The Power of Presentation can Make or Break Business

Yet, space after space and place after place just can’t figure it out. If we evaluate this from the most simplest of levels. When someone looks disheveled we in that moment make judgement. We go thru a mental rolodex of possibilities.

  1. They must have been rushing?
  2. Are they in trouble or Ok?
  3. Did they get into a fight with a bear?
  4. What in the world?
  5. Good to actually see them in today.

First impression or Presentation in this case, is the first line before we go any further on how intelligent someone is or how wonderful or horrible of a person they are. Next…. on to the words that are coming out of their mouth. In your organization that’s how we have to look at it. Impression then engagement.

Word play is real and if you know how to master it you can take over the world! That’s how I feel anyway. I will use the word play masters of the fast food industry. Many’s favorite debate-able sandwich joint Chik-Fil-A. Those 2 words “My Pleasure” (for everything) just sends chills up your spine. How polite of them to take pleasure in serving my chicken needs in our drive thru and counter experiences. Doesn’t that go through everyones mind? My pleasure just say it yourself and feel that free smile.

It truly pains me to see full size establishments go down hill because their presentation is  TRASH . Yes, I said it. I’m looking at you named store I used to frequent but I won’t call you out at this time! If you don’t have a set dress code that’s fine…but you can’t have employees represent your establishment in their tattered best. Sorry tattered is tattered.

I will use the wording “representation matters” in this sense. Your front line will always establish your perception. No  andsifs  ,or  buts  about it! If you disagree your in need of my training and those are facts!

Let’s think to the many that have come and gone. Honestly, can you recollect any establishment that has closed down because of quality service and a professional staff? probably not!

As a matter of fact we are seeing the opposite. The domination and reputation over some of the biggest brands is because they do not settle for lackluster presentation. It all ties together within.

I assist nonprofits and businesses small and large internalize this. Evaluate the gaps and execute in turning the image from 3 lesser focused on perspectives. Take these 3 tips to heart no matter your phase in service.

3 Tips To Enhance Your Presentation and Engagement

  1. Clarify your brand image and message from the beginning. It is important to engage with your target the way that  YOU  envisioned. Authenticity oozes this way.
  2. Don’t get stuck only on the big picture. If anything its the details that are overlooked that trip so many new business owners and organizations.
  3. Don’t make marketing complicated. As important as it is to have your strategy all the social media channels are not as important as your strategic networking in this day and age.

My gift and my curse is I can’t help myself!

I venture into an establishment it begins, I’m analyzing their presentation and engagement with  ME  and  present  customers. When it’s quality I give kudos. other times I shake my head and think of all the potential being left at the entrance.

As outfits drop like flies, reflect if it was because of their own demise. With the right guidance it can be turned around.  Step 1  is recognizing you have a problem or contact me and I’ll help you analyze the issues. Otherwise you may not believe but your dwindling customer base will force you to. At Connected Momentum we always strive for improvement.
